- Empowering flexibility service providers and stakeholders
- Near real-time data
- Optimizing flexibility utilization across the entire value-chain: from end-users to wholesale market
This project aims to create an innovative and robust flexibility ecosystem on the low voltage (LV) grid side of existing power markets connecting data, technologies, stakeholders, and markets, thus facilitating the flexibility provision. A variety of benefits for both technical and non-technical aspects of energy services supporting power market and power grid operations will be created.
To achieve the main goals of the project, the following tools have been developed:
- sDATA: a tool with innovative components built on the top of International Data Spaces (IDS) connectors to ensure a secure and reliable data exchange between the end-users or flexibility assets and the aggregation platforms.
- sMART: a user-centric trading framework on the low-voltage side of power networks to facilitate decision-making processes throughout the period of auctions for flexibility requirements.
- sGRID: a tool to ensure a safe and reliable long-term operation and low operational costs, providing DSOs the capacity to avoid operational risks and challenges.
- sENC: a central energy community tool that offers information about members, energy and flexibility assets. It also provides aggregation and management of the total flexibility capacity, while offering such flexibility in the local energy market.
- sPLAN: a decision support tool for DSOs, policy makers and NRAs, focused on enhancing decision-making processes.
- sFLEX: a central flexibility management system that provides information to empower decision-making processes and improve energy efficiency, intended for medium- to large-prosumers with large flexibility assets' capacity.
These tools are being implemented in 4 STREAM pilots sites in different geographical areas and involving a wide diversity of consumers. These carefully chosen sites are: Spain, Italy, Finland and Slovenia.
CyberGrid’s role
We are involved in multiple work packages and leading a task on defining energy system services for the demonstrations. The most significant contribution will include the development and implementation of the Device Registry to further decrease market barriers for LV flexibility assets.
