The 1st E.DSO Project in the Spotlight event is titled ‘DSOs at the center of Data Exchange’ and will focus on the enlarging role of the DSO in the data sphere. The roll out of the smart meters has brought about new opportunities but also increased responsibility with regards to the data the meters collect. It raises new questions about process, protocols, and protection which we will ask to a panel of state-of-the-art R&I projects who will highlight the role they foresee for the DSO. The projects panel will consist of three H2020 BRIDGE projects:
- Platone which is developing an open framework to enhance the observability of the DSO networks while allowing for the exploitation of flexibility to solve volatility from renewable energy sources and untraditional consumption patterns.
- InterConnect which aims to bring efficient energy management within reach of the end customer by developing interoperable solutions connecting smart homes and smart building to the smart grid.
- EUniversal which aims to enable the universal access of DSOs to flexibility by applying the Universal market enabling interface and thereby accommodate changes in energy consumption and supply and foster innovate market mechanisms.
