Contribute to the 'energy of the future' at RENEXPO 2026

CyberGrid presenting CyberNoc virtual power plant - software for flexibility trading at RENEXPO
February 19, 2026

RENEXPO, Austria’s leading trade fair for the “energy of the future,” takes place on 19–20 March 2026 at Messezentrum Salzburg in Salzburg. The fair functions as a concentrated meeting point for the renewables industry, especially hydropower, linking technology providers and project stakeholders with policy, research, and operators in one place. RENEXPO’s content spans both generation technologies and system integration, with emphasis on the “new energy” themes such as:

  • Hydropower (incl. turbine/hydraulic steelwork, civil & hydraulic engineering, planning),
  • Photovoltaics (e.g., mounting systems, module technologies, project management),
  • Storage solutions (battery & mechanical storage, system integration),
  • Wind power (potential, economic & ecological aspects),
  • Interconnection of renewable energies (sector coupling, energy communities, grid management).

What CyberGrid is showcasing

CyberNoc is a fully automated virtual power plant (VPP) solution designed by CyberGrid to monetize distributed energy resources across European electricity markets through cross-market flexibility trading, asset optimization, and real-time monitoring/control. What to expect:

  • Discover the latest version of our software solution for flexibility marketing. See how our platform aggregates and monetizes distributed energy assets across day-ahead, intraday, and balancing markets (FCR, aFRR, mFRR). Learn how automated bidding, cross-market energy trading, and real-time control can increase revenue potential.
  • Flexibility marketing one-stop shop: we walk you through asset prequalification, market connection and integration, operations, bidding, reports for full transparency...
  • Software as a Service (SaaS): we offer our white-label flexibility management platform, so you can take advantage of it and monetize the flexibility of your energy assets on your own.
  • Consulting services: let us run a revenue simulation and get tailored advice on regulatory compliance, market entry, and risks mitigation.
  • Use cases for industry: discover how to activate flexibility for ancillary services and short-term markets with one platform.

Featured session by Head of Sales at CyberGrid Fabio Hirsch

  • Date: 19 March 2026
  • Time: 15:15–15:45 CET
  • Speaker: Fabio Hirsch, Head of Sales, CyberGrid
  • Session title: Optimal marketing of hydroelectric power plants and battery energy storage systems (BESS) — stand-alone and co-location (also with PV and wind power plants)

From a market perspective, this session is aligned with a broader European shift toward flexibility-first operations where asset owners increasingly seek revenue stacks that combine balancing services and short-term wholesale trading.  In practice, this requires both (a) market access and bidding capability, and (b) technical control and telemetry that can safely execute dispatch instructions and strategy changes.

As a hydropower co-location example we will focus on the EVN Naturkraft’s Dorfmühle small hydropower plant as being equipped with a co-located BESS (stated capacity 0.6 MW / 1.2 MWh) and positioned for a hybrid revenue approach: participation in aFRR (secondary control) alongside day-ahead and intraday trading.

In a PV and wind co-location example, our case study on Trumau explains a hybrid configuration where a BESS is situated alongside a PV plant and near a wind farm, with the assets interconnected and sharing a grid connection point.  The BESS in that project is described as 3.4 MW / 6.8 MWh, and the stated market ambition includes provision of FCR, aFRR, and mFRR through aggregation and optimization.
